VGNP Textile

Paul Schaffer

VGNP Textile is a case study of reusing post-consumer textiles and locally sourcing natural fibers to fashion a new materiality from them. It is an attempt at workshopping a manual recycling/production process that is as non-polluting as possible. New material will need to be manufactured, at least for the foreseeable future. VGNP Textile creates a local awareness of material sourcing on an embodied basis, activating its citizens to take part in their own material sourcing. Refocussing on tackling environmental problems on a local level happens through connecting the citizens of VGNP to the soil is built on.
