During Edern’s experience in Almada, he had the chance to meet Alfredo Santos, a craftsman running a local upholstering workshop. Alfredo told him all about his life and practice. The objects that Edern made, are a tribute to this man and his craft that might disappear after he retires. Their harshness and the labor they symbolize is softened by the aesthetic of the outcomes. Their condition can change, they will no longer belong to the workshop. Their domestication will let them live with us as the allegory of possibilities that Alfredo Santos stands for.
