The ‘in-between’ garden

Marieke van Schijndel

Marieke wanted to highlight the prejudice that is hidden behind our standards of beauty. She designed DAGLICHT, which is inspired by an ‘in-between’ garden that points out the plants growing in between the tiles. These spots are public and private at the same time, but always call out diverse opinions. Some people believe it should be taken care of rigorously, others believe it should stay as part of nature. Marieke wants to shed new light on these kinds of phenomena. With her concept, she hopes to inspire others to rediscover hidden beauty.
