In Madrid there is a lot of activity around the sidewalk when it comes to pasting advertisements on the street light. Rik went through three different neighborhoods to documents these ads and their visual aesthetics. He turned this into a booklet, which can be viewed by clicked on the research file. Rik wanted to know about the human existence and stories that lie behind these advertisements. He noticed soon enough that, in the streets of Madrid, there was hardly any trace of human life engraved in the material of the posters. He decided to look at it differently and designed new lampposts with a social function. In that way, the streetlights would still connect the people when advertisements fail to do so.
