JB Gambier

The streets are full of objects: garbage, bulky waste, construction materials, machines and trash too big to fit into a container. The Netherlands is known to have a straight and clean environment, but some areas don’t really seem to fit that picture. In the Tarwewijk, a neighborhood in Rotterdam-South, this surely doesn’t apply. JB walked around and looked at the objects that are present but ignored at the same time. For many, they’ve got a negative connocation, but JB was attracted to their interesting stories and imperfections. He repaired them with tape only to show their beauty and damage. It hightlights the details and reminds us of the imperfect elements in our daily life and surroundings. Check @hoodstitch on Instagram to see the full collection.
